Great point about getting to know the needs of each boy individually. Although the boys are twins and would share similarities you are correct in saying that their learning disabilities could be different meaning they would likely require a different approach. I also agree with you about finding out the previous educational experience that the boys have had. Maybe it is something as simple as not having the same fundamental knowledge that the rest of the students in David’s class have acquired from him since the being in his class, or maybe they were educated in a totally different fashion before transferring into David’s class. I believe the boys should not be moved into a special education classroom as you have also stated. However, David might find it useful to speak to teachers who work in these settings to see if they have any helpful tips or suggestions on how to help the boys. Lastly, with regard to instructional cycle David definitely needs to find out what interests these boys because this can go a long way in keeping the attention focused to the learning task.
